PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an IC card reader/writer and a data transmission method therefor capable of coping with an RW command based on different transmission protocols transmitted from a host computer. SOLUTION: The IC card reader/writer is connected to the host computer 3, and operates on the basis of the RW command received from the host computer 3, and has a receiving means 11 for receiving the RW command based on the first transmission protcol or the second transmission protcol different from the first transmission protcol from the host computer 3, a determining means 12 for determining on which of the first transmission protcol or the second transmission protcol the RW command received by the receiving means is based, and a first converting means 13 for converting the RW command so as to be based on the first transmission protcol when the determining means 12 determines that the RW command is based on the second transmission protcol. |
