PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure positioning accuracy of an orifice plate and the channel in a head body while preventing defective ejection due to formation of an orifice. SOLUTION: A head body 3 is provided with a heating element 5 on the lower wall thereof and two dummy channels 16 are formed on each end side of liquid channels 6 formed in parallel while being partitioned by the liquid channel wall 9. Orifices 12 for ejecting ink are made in parallel in an orifice plate 4 and a dummy orifice 15 ejecting no ink during recording operation are made in each of two protrusions 13 formed on each end side and fitted in the opening of the dummy channel 16. The protrusion 13 of the orifice plate 4 is fitted to the dummy channel 16 and positioned in place.
