PURPOSE: A clamp is provided to perform a line work in a safe and easy manner by permitting the clamp to hold a cable without the help of the bolt or wedge and eliminating the necessity of installing a jumper line to the core wire. CONSTITUTION: A clamp comprises a clamp body(1) having a base section(1a) with a wedge guide surface(5), an attachment section(2) to be attached to the insulator installed to an electric pole, an upper protrusion(1b) covering the upper portion of the wedge guide surface, and a clamp section(3) for inserting a core line(L') of a distribution line(L); a wedge(6) arranged to be movable in a lengthwise direction along the wedge guide surface of the clamp body, and which permits the core line of the distribution line to be inserted into the clamp section when the wedge moves toward the attachment section and supports the core line of the distribution line when the wedge moves toward the clamp section; and a spring(9) serving as a press member for constantly pressing the wedge toward the clamp section.
