PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To supress unwanted waves from generating between electrode structure columns with input/output IDT comprised in a surface acoustic wave device which is obtained by cascade-connecting the inter electrode structure columns. SOLUTION: At least two or more electrode structure columns which propagate surface acoustic waves are provided on a piezoelectric board for the formation of a surface acoustic wave device, the piezoelectric board, on which the electrode structure columns have been arranged, is divided into unit piezoelectric boards, the unit piezoelectric boards are jointed together by bonding, so as to constitute the surface acoustic wave device, so that the above problem is solved.
