PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a relatively thin portable telephone capable of observing a minute image and having good operability and no ruggedness at a portably carrying time. SOLUTION: The portable telephone comprises a first body and a second body rotatably supported to the first body. The first body 1 has a main operating unit 22, an operating unit 20 and an observation protrusion 14 for housing an image display unit 5 having an observation window 12. The second body 2 has a display unit 18, an opening 16 for housing the protrusion 14 at a folding time, a driven operating unit 24 arranged on a back surface 2b, and a coupling member 26 for cooperating the operating unit 22 with the driven operating unit 24 at the folding time. A user can look into the window 12 from the back surface 2b at the folding time.
