PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic head such that a reproducing output can be obtained with high sensitivity, by carrying out magnetic domain control also on a flux guide to suppress a noise. SOLUTION: In a magnetic head including a magnetoresistive film and a flux guide which directs the signal magnetic field from a magnetic recording medium to lead to the magneto-resistive film, a flux guide control film for forming the state of the magnetic domain in the flux guide into that of a single magnetic domain is provided.
