PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water-base ink printed matter protective agent capable of effectively and simply avoiding occurrence of a scuff damage or the like on a surface of a printed matter, by preventing discoloring/fading of the printed matter printed with a water base ink due to various types of environmental factors such as a moisture, an ultraviolet ray or the like, and imparting a sense of a gloss to the matter. SOLUTION: The protective agent of the printed matter printed with the water-base ink is provided. The protective agent comprises a low boiling point hydrocarbon solvent and a lipophilic resin soluble in the solvent. A blending ratio of the solvent to the resin is 97:3 to 40:60 by weight. A boiling point of the solvent is 50 to 110 deg.C. The solvent includes pentane, hexane, heptane, octane, hexamethylsiloxane or the like. The lipophilic resin includes a silicone acrylic resin, methylphenyl silicone resin, 1,2-polybutadiene elastomer or the like. |
