PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst warm-up device for an internal combustion engine, in which heat generated in a combustion chamber of a cylinder can be effectively fed into a catalyst part to purify exhaust gas in the exhaust gas system of the internal combustion engine. SOLUTION: The catalyst warm-up device for the internal combustion engine is provided with exhaust passages 102e, 110 to discharge combustible gas from the combustion chamber 106, a catalyst part 120 installed in the exhaust passages 102e, 110 to purify the exhaust gas, a laser radiation means 105, 90 used for the internal combustion engine 100 in which combustible air fuel mixture flowed into the combustion chamber 106 is ignited, the combustible gas is discharged from the exhaust passages 102e, 110, and combustible gas is purified, to ignite a combustible air fuel mixture flowed into the combustible chamber 106 to radiate laser beam for igniting an ignition object in the combustible chamber 106, and a catalyst warm-up means 90 to ignite the combustible air fuel mixture by a laser radiation means and lead the combustible gas into a catalyst part 120.
