<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic tire capable of enhancing the performance in the initial service stage, and ensuring the performance on a dry road surface. <P>SOLUTION: An outer shallow groove 26 and an inner shallow groove 27 capable of absorbing water generated between a tire and a road surface and removing or reducing water film are provided on a tread of a block 20. The outer shallow groove 26 and the inner shallow groove 27 are formed in a straight shape along the circumferential direction of a tire 10. The outer shallow groove 26 is formed on an outer half area OH on the outer side OUT from a center circumferential groove 14, and the inner shallow groove 27 is formed on an inner half area IH on the inner side IN from the center circumferential groove 14. The width W2 of the inner shallow groove 27 is larger than the width W1 of the outer shallow groove 26, and the depth D2 of the inner shallow groove 27 is larger than the depth D1 of the outer shallow groove 26.
