PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an LED for a white color light source which is miniaturized, has sufficient brightness and is excellent in color rendering properties. SOLUTION: The LED has a first semiconductor light-emitting element 13 which emits colored light of a first wavelength region, a second light-emitting element 14 which emits colored light of a second wavelength region, a frame electrode 11 for installing the first and second semiconductor light-emitting elements and a package 19 for molding them integrally. The first semiconductor light-emitting element 13 is constituted of an InGaAlP material, and an active layer 34, which is incorporated in a light-emitting element constituted of the InGaAlP material, is constituted of a plurality of composite light-emitting layers 54, 55, 56, and 57 which emit colored lights of different wavelengths, and light emission spectrum from the plurality of light-emitting layers overlaps, at least in a part. The composite light-emitting layers 54, 55, 56, and 57 are constituted of a plurality of light-emitting layers 58 which emit colored light of almost the same wavelength. |
