An e-commerce transaction and rewards system includes at least one data terminal for inputting commerce transaction data associated with a commercial transaction, at least one financial institution server, and a transaction server in communication with the data terminals over a transaction network and in communication with the financial institution servers over a financial institution network. Each financial institution server provides controlled access to at least one cash account. The transaction server is configured to receive the transactio n data over the transaction network and to provide the cash accounts with cash credit data i n accordance with the received transaction data.
