Provided is a method for manufacturing a polarizing plate with an excellent exterior. The method for manufacturing a polarizing plate comprises the following processes: obtaining a stacked body (10) by forming a resin substrate on a long side, and a polyvinyl alcohol-based resin layer in a side of the resin substrate; dying the polyvinyl alcohol-based resin layer; elongating the stacked body (10); slitting an end unit (10a) of the stacked body (10) in a width direction before elongating; and bonding a protective film to the polyvinyl alcohol-based resin layer on the long side after dying and elongating. The width of the stacked body (10) after elongating corresponds to the width of the stacked body for bonding.
