Metered powder feed for verneuil method crystal mfr - using ultrasonics influenced sieve base to delivery container

The finely powdered crystalline raw material is led from a store vessel into the delivery container the sieve base portion of which is subjected to ultrasonic energy from a suitable transmitter which includes an acoustic nozzle which dips into the powder lying on the sieve. The system also includes a mechanical vibrator for agitating the sieve base which is pref. moved in a horizontal plane. A control member varying the intensity of the ultrasonics applied to the powder is also included to achieve a metered delivery of powder.
