摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an alumina-garia based nitrogen oxide reducing catalyst having high durability and a manufacturing method thereof. SOLUTION: The high durability alumina-garia based nitrogen oxide reducing catalyst is composed of an alumina-garia aerosol formed by supercritically drying a garia-containing boehmite gel to form a solid solution of garia with transition alumina and having a high surface area of >=100 m<2> /g. The method of manufacturing the alumina-garia based nitrogen oxide reducing catalyst is performed by using a boehmite (AlOOH) sol as an alumina source, supercrytically drying the garia-containing boehmite gel to form a boehmite- garia aerogel and firing the gel. The alumina-garia based aerogel catalyst having the action for reducing efficiently nitrogen oxide at >=400 deg.C through a long period and the manufacturing method thereof are provided.
