PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To sense an erroneous sheet set by readily sensing the face and back of a roll label without employment of dedicated sheets of paper.SOLUTION: A roll label 100 having label paper 101, which has a printing surface as one surface and an adhesive surface as the other surface, wound about it is retained at a predetermined position in an image formation apparatus, and the image formation apparatus includes: image formation means (recording head 108 and carriage 110) that forms an image on one surface of the label paper 101 being peeled off from the roll label 100 and then transported. The image formation apparatus further includes: a surface potential sensor 120 that is disposed in the middle of a transportation path from the predetermined position to the image formation means and senses the surface potential of the label paper 101; and a control unit 200 that decides based on a result of sensing by the surface potential sensor 120 whether the printing surface of the label paper 101 is located on the side of image formation by the image formation means. |
