A flexible pipe 10, Fig. 1, for example, is clamped to a rigid pipe 11, for example, by means of clamping members 30a, 30b, Fig. 2, and a perforated band 20. The clamping member 30a, Fig. 4, is provided with a slot 37 which receives an end 20a of the band 20, the end 20a being folded back under itself so as to be trapped between itself and the flexible pipe 10. The clamping member 30b, Fig. 5, is provided with lugs 40 which are engageable with perforations 21 in the band 20. The clamping member 30a, Fig. 4, is provided with a spacer element 34a having lugs 35a received in holes 45 formed in side walls 31a, 32a of the member 30a and having a hole 36a therein for receiving a screw 31, and is provided with an extension 38a. The clamping member 30b, Fig. 5, is provided with a spacer element 34b having lugs 35b received in side walls 31b, 32b of the member 30b, and having a screwthreaded hole 36b therein into which the screw 31 is threaded; and is provided with an extension 38b. In clamping the flexible pipe 10 to the pipe 11, the clamping members 30a, 30b are mounted together so that the extension 38b of the member 30b is above the extension 38a of the member 30a, as shown in Fig. 2, the screw 31 is placed in position the end 20a of the band 20 is attached to the member 30a, and the end 20b of the band 20 is passed through both members 30a, 30b and is tightened by hand, perforations 21 of the band 20 then engage the lugs 40 of the member 30b and the screw 31 is tightened. In a modification the band 20 is replaced by bands 20', 20", Figs. 6 and 7, which, having perforations 21' therein, are connected together by means of a resilient member 51, having flanges 52, 53 and by means of a plug 55 which is received by the member 51.</p> |
