PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital recording device which does not require complex operation and is also excellent in portability. SOLUTION: An external recording medium connection part 11 is a part for connecting a recording medium allowing digital data to be recorded therein as a unit such as a memory card. When an external recording medium is connected with the external recording medium connection part 11, a control part 14 acknowledges the connection, and the control part 14 transfers the digital data recorded in the external recording medium to an internal recording part 12 through the external recording medium connection part 11. The control part 14 erases the digital data recorded in the recording medium as necessary.
