Apparatus allowing interchangeable figures and letters to be marked on wood and other heat-sensitive materials. It consists of an element 1 which discharges the heating functions by means of an electrical resistance. The latter imparts a temperature sufficient for marking to the figures and letters 6. The element 2 contains a thermostat limiting overheating. These two elements are associated. For manipulation, a hollow handle makes it possible to hold them, and provides a passage for the electrical wires. This apparatus according to the invention is intended for identifying marked equipment. <IMAGE>
