A DEFORMATION PREVENTION COMPONENT FOR LARGE REELS A hub-shaped deformation prevention component is inserted in the cylindrical hollow chamber of a large roll, such as a reel of aluminium or steel strip, to prevent deformation of the roll during transport. The component is generally U-shaped in radial section and is provided at its centre with a cylindrical aperature. Preferably the component is pressed in one piece from a mixture of fibrous materials containing lignocellulose and thermosetting binding agents.
