PURPOSE:To prevent a thermal head from being broken electrostatically by providing a thermal head which is charged with a static electricity and an electroconductive substrate which comes in contact electrically with a cartridge which stores an ink ribbon and grounding these two components to a grounding line of a printing base. CONSTITUTION:A thermal head 4 is mounted on a carriage 3 and a metal electroconductive base 10 is arranged at a position where an ink ribbon cassette 2 is mounted on the carriage 3. This electroconductive base 10 is kept in contact with an ink ribbon cassette 2 and at the same time, a contact piece 10a is formed at an opposite part to the rear of the thermal head 4. In the printing standby mode, the thermal head 4 fells to the rear side and the thermal head 4 comes in contact piece 10a while the head 4 is contained. The electroconductive base 10 comes in contact with a grounding pattern 13 of a printing base 10 which drives the thermal head through a grounding spring 11 arranged in the interior of the carriage 3. |
