PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correct the comatic aberration in a magneto-optical disk recording and reproducing device for recording and reproducing information signals to a magneto-optical disk. SOLUTION: In the magneto-optical disk recording and reproducing device 1 for performing recording and reproduction of the information signals to the magneto-optical disk 2, local phase difference is generated by a polarization component in the same direction as the alignment direction of liquid crystal molecules and a polarization component in the direction perpendicular to the alignment direction of the liquid crystal molecules of the light beam transmitted through a liquid crystal element 21 by using the liquid crystal element 21. Thus, comatic aberration is corrected and the information signals are read out. |
