PURPOSE:To prevent foreign matter from infiltrating into a cylinder while facilitating assembly work by forming a structure such that an element of integrally forming the cylinder and a plunger or the like for constituting a pump principal part is built in a pump housing. CONSTITUTION:In the case of assembly of a fuel injection pump, first an upper seat 35, resetting spring 25, lower seat 23 and a plunger 10 are built in a flange part 8b of a cylinder 8, a bolt 42 is screw-connected to a thread part 10a in an end part of the plunger 10 through a bracket 40 brought into contact with a cylinder upper end surface, and the plunger 10 is lift-held upward against the resetting spring 25. Next, these pump elements 41 are built in a pump housing 2 from its upper end opening part 2a, and after holding the element 41 by inserting a pair of pins into a pin hole of the pump housing 2 in a condition that a shoulder part 8d of the cylinder 8 is brought into contact with an upper end surface 2b, the bolt 42 is wrenched and removed, thereafter, a solenoid valve 30 is screw-connected to a thread hole 8c of the cylinder 8. |
