PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve sensitivity of a galvanic cell type gas sensor. SOLUTION: A sensor body 2 having a hole 4 bored in its bottom to make contact with gas to-be-tested has a detecting electrode 6, an SPE film 8, a hydrophobic SPE film 10 and a counter electrode 12 arranged inside the sensor body 2 in this sequence from the bottom and inside the sensor body 2 contains a KC1 saturated aqueous solution 18 as an internal electrolyte. The detecting electrode 6 is made by forming a gold thin film on both sides of a conductive porous carbon sheet. Between the detecting electrode 6 and the counter electrode 12 is an ammeter 24 connected to them for measuring the amount of current flowing between the detecting electrode 6 and the counter electrode 12. |
