Warp beam winder with simple, automatic tension adjustment

An assembly for winding a band of warps around a warp beam (2), has friction bodies horizontal fixed round rods (8-10) over the width of the warps (1) and in contact with them in their path from creel (3) to beam (2). At least one rod moves against springs (14,18) tensioned in relation to the other rods so that the warps (1) form an S-shaped path through the rod assembly. The structure of the S-shape is set by the spring tension of the rod and warp tension. Preferably the spring (14) has an adjustable tension. Two round rods can be mounted to a rocker, in an assembly with a round rod, before and after the rocker, to give partial deflection to the warps (1) in a defined position. A spring is linked to an end of the rocker, to hold the rocker in a less stretched position of the warp's S-path. A sensor (20) registers the warp (1) tension, sending a signal to a control (21) which shifts the sliding rod (9) according to a comparison of actual and nominal values. The sensor (20) monitors the imposed position on the spring (14), and the control (21) sets the tension.
