PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tunnel joint technique capable of smoothing construction in a shorter period and at a lower cost and showing high water stop performance. SOLUTION: Continuous slits 20, 20 are formed between two shield tunnels 10A, 10B constructed at a space and water stop plates 21 are inserted into the respective continuous slits 20, with both ends fixed to two shield tunnels 10A, 10B. Then, grounds between each of segments 11, 15 and each of the shield tunnels 10A, 10B are withdrawn between two water stop plates 21, 21 to integrally join two shield tunnels 10A, 10B.
