PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process for the production of a cloth having surface feeling similar to chamois leather, peach skin, chinchilla fur, or the like. SOLUTION: A cloth 2 is applied to the supporting face of a substrate 1. The substrate 1 is made of a non-elastic material such as metal or ceramic and the supporting face is also made of a non-elastic material. The cloth 2 is pressed against the supporting face and abrasion material particles 5 are blasted through an ejection nozzle 6 against the surface of the cloth 2 pressed on the supporting face. As a result, the surface of the cloth 2 is collided with the abrasion particles. The collision of abrasion particles on the fiber causes the development of fine split protrusions, the division or fibrillation of the fiber or the formation of small pits on the fiber surface to impart the cloth with surface feeling similar to chamois leather, peach skin, chinchilla fur, or the like.
