PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating method for the manufacturing method for an ink jet recording sheet employing a casting method, by which a stable quality is obtained, and obtain the ink jet recording sheet excellent in gloss and printing grade. SOLUTION: In the manufacturing method of the ink jet recording sheet, in which an ink receiving layer coating liquid is coated at least by one ink receiving layer and which is mirror-gloss finished by a cast coating method, at least the ink receiving layer coating liquid includes cationic inorganic oxide particles and a resin, the 1% solution of which has a B-type viscosity at 20 deg.C of 1,000 mPa.s or more. Preferably, the viscosity at 20 deg.C of the coating liquid of the ink receiving layer is 30 to 5,000 [mPa.s] under the shearing speed of 1×10 [1/s] and 10 t o 1,000 [mPa.s] under the shearing speed of 1×10<3> [1/s]. |
