PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a film (proton-conducting material) which has improved chemical durability and mechanical properties such as tensile strength, breaking elongation and elastic modulus in comparison with a membrane comprising a sulfonated aromatic polymer without deteriorating proton conductivity. SOLUTION: This sulfonated polymer composition contains as main components (A) 100 pts.wt. of a sulfonated aromatic polymer, (B) 3 to 40 pts.wt. of the sulfonated product of a conjugated diene-aromatic vinyl copolymer hydrogenated product, and (C) a necessary amount of an organic solvent. The film obtained by casting the composition and then drying obtained film.
