PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carbon fiber-reinforced, sheet-formed molding material of which the surface is flat and smooth as well as excellent in the coatability, and to provide a molded body by using it and also a preparing process thereof. SOLUTION: The carbon fiber-reinforced, sheet-formed molding material, among sheet-formed molding materials in which short fibers made of a carbon fiber are disposed in a thermosetting resin, is characterized by being disposed near the surface with a nonwoven fabric made of a carbon fiber, and is capable of easily giving a molded body with the flatness and excellent paint-coatability of the surface and without the standing of pills and lumps of the fiber.
