PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel oil composition capable of efficiently reducing an amount of PM, and an amount of SOF in the PM in a waste gas from an internal combustion engine, especially a diesel engine even without adding a large amount of additives. SOLUTION: This fuel oil composition is obtained by adding 0.01-100 ppm alkaline earth metal salt expressed in terms of metal based on the whole amount of the fuel oil composition to the fuel oil.
