PURPOSE: An armrest for a vehicle is provided to avoid unpleasantness of a user by having a receiving case of an armrest body opened and closed without a noise and to improve the durability by firmly combining the armrest body on a console box via a console bracket. CONSTITUTION: An armrest for a vehicle comprises a box type body(110) having an opened upper face, a cover(120) placed on the body and a combining unit for rotatably combining the body with a console box(102). A coil spring(122) is fixed on the front lower face of the body, and a fixing member(124) of the cover is fixed on the lower end of the coil spring. The fixing member is fixed in a fixing piece(112) of the body. Thus, the cover is firmly fixed not to separate from the body. The combining unit has a body bracket, a console bracket(134), a fixing bracket and a leaf spring. A fixing bracket(138) is installed in the console box behind a receiving case(104). A fixing piece of the console bracket is inserted to the console box and combined to the fixing bracket of the console box. Upon rearward rotating the body bracket with the body, the receiving case of the console box is opened. When rotating the cover, the coil spring makes the fixing member move smoothly. Therefore, the receiving case is opened and closed without a noise.
