PURPOSE: A pad wear detecting apparatus of a disk brake is provided to recycle a pad wear detecting apparatus in replacing a pad plate by installing the pad wear detecting apparatus in the pad plate conveniently, and to prevent unnecessary friction in releasing braking without an additional restoring unit by supporting the pad plate elastically. CONSTITUTION: A pad wear detecting device(80) of a disk brake is composed of a fixing part(81) installed separably in the end of a pad plate(50); an elastic supporting part(82) supporting the pad plate elastically against the opposite of the disk; and a wear detecting part(83) contacted to the disk in wearing a pad(51). The pad plate is returned promptly with the elastic supporting part in releasing braking, and endurance of the pad is improved. Replacement time is displayed with friction between the wear detecting part and the disk in wearing the pad, and the pad wear detecting device is installed conveniently with fitting through the fixing part. The pad wear detecting device is reused in replacing the pad plate, and expenses are reduced.
