LOW POWER CONSUMPTION TYPE DYNAMIC RANDOM ACCESS MEMORY

PURPOSE: To provide a low power consumption type dynamic random access memory(DRAM) in which current consumption is made small as a DRAM by external signals and no maloperation is made during low current consumption operations. CONSTITUTION: An input circuit 240 into which signals are inputted, a memory array 260 which holds data and a peripheral circuit 250 which controls the array 260 are driven by an internal power supply from interval power supply circuits 220 and 270. An output circuit which outputs signals is driven by an external power supply 210. The circuits 220 and 270 are made into an inactive state in response to a control signal CONT inputted from the external and the output circuit is controlled into a high impedance state while the external power supply is being supplied.
