PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact high-performance projector by which a distinct image is obtained by improving pixel deviation and irregular color based on the error of the attaching position and angle of each liquid crystal light valve and the influence of respective parts by the heat of a light source or the like as a projector for enlarging and projecting the image by a projection lens by separating white light to three primary colors, forming the images by the liquid crystal light valve, and synthesizing the images. SOLUTION: This projector is provided with a light source 1, plural dichroic mirrors 2 and 3a for separating the light beam emitted from the light source 1 to blue, green and red light beams, an optical means forming an optical path by providing liquid crystal light valves 7a, 7b and 7c for forming the respective images of the blue, green and red light beams, and dichroic mirrors 3b and 5 for synthesizing the images, and a projection lens 6. In the projector, the dichroic mirrors 2, 3a, 3b and 5 and the liquid crystal light valves 7a, 7b and 7c are fixed on the upper surface of a box type chassis 8b. |
