PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drilling method for positively recovering chips produced by machining, from the surface of a workpiece and moreover improving workability. SOLUTION: Height B in moving which is a distance between a lower end of a pressure foot 5 and an upper plate 11 is determined for every nominal diameter of a drill 1 when moving the drill 1 into the following machining position after machining a certain hole, and the height B in moving is changed according to the nominal diameter of the drill 1 in use when machining.
