PURPOSE: A display device of a portable terminal capable of adaptively displaying an image is provided to rotate a processed image by corresponding to a sensed inclination, and to display the rotated image on a display, thereby displaying the image at a user's sight. CONSTITUTION: A display(301) displays an image photographed by a pickup unit or an image received by a transceiver of a portable terminal. If the display(301) is rotated in a certain direction from an erected state, an inclination sensor(303) senses an inclination of the display(301). A horizontal rotation sensor(303a) of the inclination sensor(303) senses a horizontally rotated inclination of the display(301), while a vertical rotation sensor(303b) senses a vertically rotated inclination of the display(301).
