PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a receiving terminal device for receiving television broadcasting, and capable of allowing a user to acquire a desired information including a program information quickly by a simple operation. SOLUTION: An STB (Set Top Box) 32 is a receiving terminal device in a cable television system. The STB comprises a memory portion 60 for storing an EPG data extracted from a television broadcasting signal, a bidirectional communication portion 52 capable of accessing the Internet using an Internet connection service of the cable television system, and a microcomputer 70. If a user inputs a keyword through an operation portion 54 or a remote control unit, the microcomputer 70 performs information retrieval based on the keyword using the EPG data and a search engine on the Internet simultaneously. If a search result is obtained by any of the two searches, a display data for displaying the search result is outputted as a video signal for television displaying, via an information display processing portion 62 and a video processor 48.
