PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a frequency error detector capable of detecting a frequency error greater than the frequency error determined based on a true value of phase shift determined in a modulation scheme. SOLUTION: An A/D conversion section 14 performs n-fold sampling upon an I signal and a Q signal inputted from a radio circuit section 12 and inputs the signals to a frequency control section 29 and a control code stream extraction section 16. The control code stream extraction section 16 extracts an I' signal and a Q' signal of which a cumulative addition value of phase shift at a symbol point is periodical, from the input signals and inputs the extracted signals to a frequency error signal generating section 18. The frequency error signal generating section 18 generates a frequency error signal based on the I' signal and the Q' signal and inputs the generated signal to a frequency control section 20. The frequency control section 20 compensates for a phase error of the symbol point presented in the input I signal and Q signal based on the frequency error signal. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
