PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a luminous brightness measuring instrument capable of measuring easily the aftergrow brightness of a luminous label, even when the luminous label is provided on a wall face of a facility or an underground market, a riser of a stair, or the like. SOLUTION: A measuring part 102 of this luminous brightness measuring instrument 101 has a proximity face smaller than a luminous portion of the luminous label, and receives light from a photoreception face provided on the proximity face. A rubber-like light shielding elastomer is arranged in the periphery of the photoreception face of the proximity face to shield the light incident from an outside of an area opposed to the photoreception face of the luminous label into the photoreception face. The luminous brightness measuring instrument 101 calculates the aftergrow brightness of the luminous label, based on a photoreception result when the light shielding elastomer is brought into close contact with a luminous label sheet.
