<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catheter with a spirally wound flat ribbon electrode covering the periphery of the catheter. <P>SOLUTION: The catheter comprises a tubular body with a proximal end and a distal section. The distal section comprises a flexible part. A connecter is set in the proximal end. The flexible distal section is covered by a spirally wound flat ribbon electrode made of a suitable conductive metal. The flat ribbon electrode is tightly and spirally wound on the periphery of the distal section. The tight and spiral winding guarantees that RF damage generated by a catheter is linearly continued.
