PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily generate synthesized sounds through which paralanguage information is transmitted effectively. SOLUTION: A voice rhythm information generating section 25 generates voice rhythm information, that controls the rhythm of synthesized sound based on voice symbols outputted by a language analysis section 21. A music rhythm information generating section 26 controls rhythm by musical elements and generates musical rhythm information to add paralanguage information, that expresses the feeling of a robot. A rhythm information adjusting section 27 generates final rhythm information, by adjusting the voice rhythm information and the musical rhythm information. A waveform-synthesizing section 28 generates synthesized sounds in which rhythm is controlled by the final rhythm information.
