<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an adsorbent excellent in adsorbing and removing an aldehyde such as acetaldehyde contained in cigarette fume which is one of the greatest causes of an odor in air. <P>SOLUTION: The aldehyde adsorbent is constituted of porous silica having a mean pore diameter of greater than 1 nm and a compound comprising an amino group and/or an imino group, which aldehyde adsorbent contains an amino group and/or an imino group in an amount of 1.0 to 20 mmol per gram of the aldehyde adsorbent and has a X-ray diffraction pattern with at least one peak at a position where d-spacing is greater than 2 nm. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
