PALATAL IMPLANT AND TONGUE IMPLANT FOR THE TREATMENT OF SNORING AND SLEEP APNEA

A palatal graft and a tongue graft for the treatment of snoring and sleep apnea are provided to widen the air channel of the pharynx, thereby improving the treating effect. A palatal graft is inserted into the soft palate of human body and comprises a supporting member which is made of a shape memory material, recovers the memorized shape at a first temperature (T1) corresponding to the body temperature at the time entering the sleeping state, maintains the memorized shape to the second temperature (T2) lower than the first temperature (T1) by 0.3~0.7°C, and can be sinter-modified by the loosing of the memorized shape at the temperature lower than the second temperature (T2); and a cylindrical fiber texture body which surrounds the supporting member.
