PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle body structure of an automobile in which deformation performance of left and right side frames is set asymmetrically so as to enhance reliability on a deformation mode for protecting an auxiliary machine in a side frame near the auxiliary machine, to enhance resisting force against a collision of a side frame at the other side and to increase load absorption amounts, so that both securement of load absorption amounts relative to a collision and protection of the auxiliary machine are achieved.SOLUTION: Side frames 10 and 20 are set as a side frame 10 near an auxiliary machine positioned near the auxiliary machine 36 and as an opposite-side side frame 20 positioned at the opposite side in a vehicle width direction of the side frame 10 near the auxiliary machine. At a position closer to a tip in a vehicle longitudinal direction than the auxiliary machine 36 of the side frame 10 near the auxiliary machine is provided a deformation promoting part 14, whose bearing force in a vehicle longitudinal direction is weak relative to the opposite-side side frame 20, which promotes deformation of the frames toward on side in a vehicle width direction opposite to the other side in the vehicle width direction in which the auxiliary machine 36 is arranged.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
