PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a piston friction reduction device which enables reduction of metal contact between a piston and a cylinder liner wall to reduce friction.SOLUTION: A piston friction reduction device reduces friction between a cylinder 2 and a piston 4 of an engine 1. In the friction reduction device, an ultrasonic wave vibrator 8 for vibrating a cylinder liner wall 7 is provided on the cylinder liner wall 7 which contacts with a thrust side piston skirt 10 of the piston 4 when the piston 4 is positioned at an upper dead point.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
