PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fibrous carbon containing iron based sintered alloy capable of obtaining a sintered alloy excellent in both mechanical and thermal properties by specifying conditions of a mixing step of a base metal with a binder and a sintering step, establishing a method for manufacturing such a sintered alloy and acquiring an excellent die-casting die using such a sintered alloy.SOLUTION: VGCFs 3 are almost uniformly dispersed in a base metal while maintaining a linear fiber shape by reducing and specifying a blending proportion of the VGCFs 3 and specifying sintering conditions, and a dense VGCF/SKD61 sintered alloy 1 having a high relative density without forming solid solution between iron and the carbon of the VGCF and having both mechanical and thermal properties is obtained.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
