PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a microcapsule with high emulsification stability, the microcapsule, and a heat-sensitive recording material with high whiteness of the ground skin. SOLUTION: In the method for manufacturing the microcapsule in which a solution containing a diazonium salt compound or an electron-donating dye precursor and a polyvalent isocyanate compound in an organic solvent is emulsified and dispersed with a water solution of a water-soluble polymer and the microcapsule wall is formed by polymerizing the polyvalent isocyanate, the method for manufacturing the microcapsule is characterized by incorporating a compound expressed by general formula (1) as an emulsification auxiliary while emulsification and dispersion are performed. In general formula (1), R<1> and R<2> are respectively a straight-chain or branched 8-16C alkyl group and X and Y are respectively an ether group or an ester group and n is 0 or 1. |
