PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and method for removal and concentration of water-soluble radioactive substances, which allow for concentrating water solution containing water-soluble radioactive substances and reusing elements.SOLUTION: A water-soluble radioactive substance removal/concentration apparatus 10 includes a positive electrode 20 and a negative electrode 30 immersed in a water solution containing ions of water-soluble radioactive substances or in water containing no ions of radioactive substances, and current supply means 40 configured to supply DC current that flows between the positive electrode 20 and negative electrode 30, the positive electrode 20 containing a Prussian blue analogue represented by a chemical formula NaM[Fe(CN)](where M represents Fe, Co, Ni, Mn or Cd, y represents an integer of 0 to 2, and y represents an integer of 0 to 1), and the current supply means 40 being capable of switching the direction of the DC current flowing between the positive electrode 20 and the negative electrode 30.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
