PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide compounds comprising a 2-phenylpyridine ligand further substituted with a heterocyclic group which can be used for organic light emitting devices to provide devices having improved efficiency and lifetimes.SOLUTION: For example, an iridium complex compound comprising a pyridyl-substituted 2-phenylpyridine ligand can be synthesized by reacting 2-chloropyridine in the presence of a palladium catalyst with an iridium phenylpyridine boronic acid ester complex prepared from an iridium phenylpyridine triflate salt.SELECTED DRAWING: None |
