PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spread spectrum communication unit with an enhanced throughput, which ensures a large number of channels and transceives complete moving picture information while increasing the number of frames per unit time. SOLUTION: The spread spectrum communication unit is provided with a surface acoustic wave convolver 70, a means where an SS preamble signal is generated with a prescribed orthogonal PN code by an orthogonal PN code section 14, the prescribed orthogonal PN code by the orthogonal PN code section 14 modulates an information signal to generate an SS information modulation signal, a combiner 26 combines the SS preamble signal and the SS information modulation signal and the result is transmitted as a preamble header and information data, and with a means that receives the preamble header and the information data, gives the SS preamble signal to the surface acoustic wave convolver 70, a reference signal generated by using the prescribed orthogonal PN code by the orthogonal PN code section 14 is given to the surface acoustic wave convolver 70 to conduct synchronization acquisition and holding at reception. |
